Learning Audio Style

Today I have spent a considerable amount of time thinking about our upcoming trip to Virginia. In July Bug, Sis, and I will load up into the F150 and drive for 20 hours to visit my Dear Cousin. Every kid deserves a chance for an "Are we there yet" type of trip.

I have spent hours looking over road maps, trying to find the quickest, but yet most educational route. There are tons of possibilities and while I have narrowed that search down, still haven't committed to our exact path.

I have also spent a large amount of time mulling over ways to keep the kids occupied and our time confined in the truck enjoyable. Today's epiphany was audio books. Among the three of us we own an mp3 player, mp4 player, and an ipod so memory space is not an issue. I have been thinking for quite awhile that I should download language lessons for while I'm jogging. Today as a test I downloaded two lessons and am in the process of downloading the Count of Monte Cristo.

If these test loads go well I am thinking about downloading something by C. S. Lewis or Jules Verne to keep the kids' attention on our long journey.

I have found some great free sites so far, check out my favorite Audio Books for Free.
I also have a proud mommy moment to share. As I type this Bug, Sis, and Sis's boyfriend are all sitting in my living room on this humid Sunday afternoon reading. Two teenagers reading, wow, I must have done something right!
